NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. - (Business Wire) Lenco Mobile Inc. (Pink Sheets: LNCM) announced today that it had completed the previously announced purchase of the online advertising arm of Superfly Advertising Inc. (Pink Sheets: SPFL). Announcing the transaction, Michael Levinsohn, CEO of Lenco Mobile Inc., said that the newly acquired business would be rebranded under the Lenco name and housed in a wholly owned subsidiary of Lenco Mobile Inc., to be known as Lenco Media.

Less than a month ago, Lenco Mobile Inc. announced that it was to acquire the online arm of Superfly Advertising Inc. The transaction was subject to the renegotiation of certain financing arrangements with Superfly Advertising Inc. "The newly acquired business is strategic and complements our mobile marketing platforms," said Levinsohn. Lenco Media will offer clients a full range of software and network infrastructure related to the operation and management of online affiliate advertising networks and online lead generation. The products offered by Lenco Media also include search marketing, list management and online brand building platforms which are used by advertisers to enhance their online marketing activities.

"Notwithstanding the current economic meltdown, we are finding that the mobile phone sector is proving to be very resilient in terms of both growth and profitability," said Levinsohn. "Our mobile phone unit, Multimedia Solutions, has delivered year on year growth in profits of more than two hundred percent and based on current work in progress, we believe that we can repeat this performance in 2009. Most mobile phone network operators are driving hard to increase the percentage of rich data products and services that they offer their subscribers and we are growing off the back of this," he said. Lenco Mobile Inc. also announced that it had opened representative offices in Australia and the United Kingdom, both of which the company believes will contribute to profits in the 2009 financial year. These two offices will market the full suite of MMS messaging products and services under license from Lenco Mobile Inc.

Lenco Mobile Inc. management believes that there will be a major convergence between products and services offered online and those offered via mobile phones. In a recent presentation, Levinsohn highlighted the fact that brand owners are all looking for accountability and measurability in their advertising and that the only practical way to do that effectively was through the Internet and on mobile phones. "Brand building was essential, but advertising with a call to action and the ability to then measure the results was fundamental to the future of marketing," he said. According to Nielsen, in the second quarter of 2008, there were 258.9 million wireless lines in the USA and at least 69 percent (178.6 million) used their phone for at least one data service – be that text messaging, games, email, mobile Internet, video, ringtones or another non-voice data feature on their phone. Nielsen recently reported that in the same quarter of 2008, mobile subscribers sent or received an average of 357 text messages per month, compared with 204 phone calls. The average number of text messages sent or received has increased 351 percent since the second quarter of 2006.

Better usability on rail websites 'could boost online marketing' Companies in the rail industry could find that their internet marketing efforts are boosted by improved website usability.

According to the results of a study by responsibletravel.com, 33 per cent of the journeys its volunteers tried to book through rail websites were successful.

This compares to a success rate of 98 per cent for airline bookings and suggests that rail companies must boost the usability of their websites, said responsibletravel.com in a blog post.

Justin Francis, managing director of the online portal, said: "Our poll has shown that it currently takes little more than five minutes to book a flight online to anywhere in Europe, yet to book a train ticket to the same destination can be very challenging indeed."

Writing on the Microsoft adCenter Blog recently, Simone Schuurer, a retail search media analyst at the software giant, said consumers will often give up and leave a website if they are unable to find the information they are looking for.

St. Louis (March 2009) - Captiva Marketing recently announced the expansion of its St. Louis-based Search Engine Marketing and Web Design Company. The growing firm now has an associate based in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Senior Account Manager, Beth McLaughlin, will be leading the Dallas growth after almost five years in the St. Louis office.

Silverback Strategies Primes Competitors for Google Online Marketing Challenge

SEM experts, Silverback Strategies, a top DC Internet Marketing Firm advise West Virginia University seniors on AdWords strategy - and stamina.

Alexandria, Virginia (PRWEB) March 5, 2009 -- Marketing students around the world are taking part in the Google Online Marketing Challenge, a global student online marketing competition, between now and May. Last month a few lucky competitors got some pre-race tips from PPC and SEO Campaign Management gurus Neil Welsh and Joseph Erfe of Silverback Strategies, a top DC Internet Marketing Firm.

Welsh, along with Silverback's director of search engine marketing Joseph Erfe, recently sat down in Morgantown with college seniors at West Virginia University who will be competing in the Challenge as part of a course in Services Marketing. Welsh and Erfe gave students real-world advice on planning and executing AdWords campaigns based on the work Silverback does for its clients on a daily basis.

I think the Challenge is a great way for students to get a sense of how dynamic this kind of marketing is - being able to manage an Adwords campaign while directly interacting with a client is a phenomenal opportunity for anyone considering a career in marketing.
Neil was able to take a real campaign scenario offered up by one of the students and discuss strategy on the fly
His insights will be valuable for these students well beyond this competition because SEM is clearly a salable skill right now.

The Challenge allows teams of four college students to test their online marketing skills by spending $200 in Google-provided AdWords vouchers on the real-world business of their choice. Each group works with their professor and chosen business to set up an AdWords account and structure an effective online marketing campaign. Google and a panel of independent academics will select the winning teams based on the success of the campaign and the quality of the competition reports.

"Neil was able to take a real campaign scenario offered up by one of the students and discuss strategy on the fly," says Michael F. Walsh, assistant professor of marketing at the College of Business and Economics at WVU. "His insights will be valuable for these students well beyond this competition because SEM is clearly a salable skill right now."

The 90 WVU students involved in the Challenge selected small area businesses to promote - ranging from law firms to restaurants to the University's own School of Business. From January 26 to May 22, they and teams from other universities will execute online strategies in an effort to boost online performance for their chosen business - be it traffic, inquiries, online purchases or other goal.

Dallas, Texas (JusticeNewsFlash.com) — As the web continues its evolution, there has been a change in both the quantity and quality of web videos. Many of the social media sites like YouTube began as platforms for online users to upload their own personally produced videos. With the increasing number of TV episodes shown online and the advent of premium TV content sites like Hulu, the demand for higher production values is rapidly increasing.

This increase in professional content has created a higher expectation by the typical user. This evolution does not mean that individually produced videos will not still make their way to social media sites especially, if they are out-of-the-box creatively. Although a large percentage of the professionally produced videos online are derived from longer format TV shows, the growth rate for high quality videos last year was close to twenty-five percent.

YouTube will continue to be a valuable venue to help support for your law firm's Internet marketing program, but it will become increasingly more important to provide production values that surpass the user-generated content that proliferates. A good starting point can be TV spots that have been custom produced for your firm. Since they can be viewed from anywhere, custom spots are preferable to "donut" spots that have your name and phone number added for your market but also air elsewhere.

By working with an ad agency that specializes in law firm marketing, videos with high production values can be produced for your firm's web site and for use on the social media platforms. It is also important that the agency you partner with provides complete SEO services so that your videos can be optimized for the web. Producing great video content may be key, but it is equally important to be seen by as many eyeballs as possible.
